Marriage Ceremonies

Nigerians love to party and celebrate. Getting married gives them the opportunity to do so. Marriage ceremonies are elaborate and expensive and are usually in two stages.

 Traditional marriage: this stage is done differently in the north and south, the practices are more homogeneous in both areas and ethnicity rather than religion is more important in this.

Religious marriage:  commonly referred to as Church or Mosque weddings. Religious practices are observed at this stage.
